Before we share the stories of the independent artisans behind our seasonal curations, it is only right to share our own.
Croft & Coast is built entirely on authentic Scottish provenance. Our curatorial home is a working boatyard studio, situated just steps from the beautiful waters of Loch Broom in the Highland fishing town of Ullapool.
Ullapool has long been a place of convergence. While it now welcomes those travelling the northern coastal routes and visitors arriving by sea, its true heritage is anchored in a much deeper exchange. As the definitive gateway to Lewis and Harris via the ferry port, it remains a vital, working hub for the north-west Highlands connecting the many small communities scattered up and down the west coast. It is a town where people, coastal trade, and stories naturally intersect.
We can think of no better vantage point to compile the absolute pinnacle of the Scottish larder.
The Highland environment is unforgiving, yet it yields exceptional produce. The wild heather, the salt-laden air, and the mineral-rich earth impart a distinct, robust profile to the provisions we select. When we source a cold-smoked salmon, a raw milk cheese, or a scratch-distilled gin, we are looking for a distinct, undeniable sense of place.
Having operated within this specific regional food landscape for fourteen years, our relationships with independent makers are firmly established. Working from this historic point of convergence allows us to remain deeply connected to those crofters and artisans, ensuring every presentation box we assemble is a true reflection of the Scottish landscape.
As we open our online storefront and launch of our Coast collection, our attention is also turning toward our next seasonal release. The Croft Collection will focus on the exceptional micro-producers of the Highlands and islands. These curations will be strictly dictated by the shifting seasons, featuring food and drink shaped directly by the surrounding land and sea. We are always looking to expand our larder.
